Ad-Hoc File Transfer
Ad Hoc Transfer offers businesses an ideal solution for sending files to recipients without the burden of setting up and managing file transfer accounts and without relying on email attachments.
The power of Ad Hoc Transfer lies in its simplicity. Other than email addresses, senders don't need to configure anything or know anything about their recipients. Recipients, on the other hand, only need a standard web browser. Moreover, the variety of sending options eases Ad Hoc integration into any corporate application.
Ad Hoc fully addresses back-end management and audit requirements while providing senders and recipients with a simple, foolproof interface. Both users and enterprise applications can send files of any size and quantity to an unlimited number of recipients using a wide range of interfaces, including an email-style web client, command line, and a web service API with.
Recipient accounts that do not exist are created on the fly at the backend according to a configurable template that determines the recipient's capabilities, account expiration settings, enrollment process, and more. Recipients that already exist are identified by their email address.
When files are sent to Ad Hoc recipients, RMFT Server automatically creates an account for them and sends an email inviting them to complete the enrollment process. The flexible and customizable enrollment process offers a choice of several enrollment options. Enrollment can be as simple as a single email notifying the user that an account has been created and providing the required login credentials together with a direct link to the files; or a succession of emails can be sent, the first asking the recipient to confirm his/her identity and willingness to enroll by clicking a link in the email, and the second providing login details and a direct link to the files.
After completing the enrollment process, Ad Hoc recipients can log into their account and download any files in their inbox. Recipients may also be able to reply to the sender and send files to other Ad Hoc recipients, depending on whether these capabilities are enabled in their account. Files can be sent and downloaded using standard HTTP or enhanced HTTP that utilizes ActiveX or Java components to provide block-level recovery and content verification.
From that point the Ad Hoc user is just like any other user, sending or receiving files according to its predefined restrictions with complete audit providing critical non-repudiation for regulated industries such as financial, healthcare, insurance, and others.
