The most significant advantage of the RDS technology is that there is no degradation in performance as the volume that are handled scale. In real life, the files and folders being synchronized keep accumulating. RDS makes sure that the time it takes to replicate stays in proportion to the differences between the repositories and is not effected by the total volume.
From an enterprise automation perspective, RDS is able to concurrently perform unlimited number of "push" and "pull" replications with different sources and destinations.
