RDS - File Replication

Scalable, automated, secured, TCP/IP based file replication and content synchronization for UNIX, Linux and Win 2003.

File Replication and Content Synchronization Software

Replicate files in an enterprise cross-platform environment

Overview

The RepliWeb Deployment SuiteTM (RDS) is a high level, scheduled file replication and content synchronization software for enterprises running mixed - cross platform server environments (Windows, UNIX, Linux, NAS). RDS enables the scheduled replication and synchronization of file systems over networks regardless of content, volume or production environment. RDS is ideal for enterprises running UNIX, Windows or mixed operating systems in production environments, performing a peer-to-peer, one-to-many, many-to-one, and cascaded file replication.

Benefits & Highlights

Rollback - Point-in-time Recovery SSL
RDS is a completely secured replication and synchronization solution. RDS' security mechanisms allow using the Internet and Internet-based VPNs and WANs as an efficient distribution channel, without the concerns of data loss, pilferage or malicious impersonation. RDS uses SSL end-to-end, making integration with other systems seamless.

Rollback - Point-in-time Recovery Rollback
RDS' Rollback functionality provides a means of effectively undoing the effects of multiple replications on a target system to a user-specified 'point-in-time'. This allows system administrators to undo the changes carried out by a one-time, or scheduled RDS job, providing Disaster Recovery and Rollback from unsuccessful publishing.

Scalability
Scales to handle very large files and huge replication trees - without maximum size limit or performance degradation as content volume grows.

The synchronization time does not depend on the total volume of data to be replicated, but only on the volume of changes.

Reliability
Replication processes run in the background, unattended. The scheduling framework provides automated recovery that is resilient to any failure including reboot, power outage and loss of network connectivity. Failure recovery resumes at the exact point of failure once connectivity is restored.

Business Intelligence
RDS is highly flexible and feature rich, allowing the user to configure replications according to business needs. Replications can be tuned to include or exclude specific files and folders, to perform pre and post replication tasks, and to be sensitive to network bandwidth or server CPU. RDS is built to accommodate high-speed LAN networks as well as slow WAN networks or busy networks where replication bandwidth use needs to be controlled.

Security
RDS provides secured replication. Being TCP/IP based and not relying on windows networking, it is firewall friendly. Data transfer is encrypted and authenticated.

Manageability
Either GUI, command line or API interface can be used to define, monitor, and control replication processes from anywhere on the network. Centralized reporting and logging options provide replication related data at corporate IT level. Runs as an unattended service or daemon with control from anywhere on the network. Detailed centralized reporting and logging functions.

Performance
Network performance is maintained for interactive users and CPU usage is kept to a minimum, without degrading the performance of other applications.

Cross Platform
RDS support full cross platform file replication and interoperates between different operating systems: UNIX, Linux, Windows, NAS, and so on.
