Planning

The planning stage is where R-1 differentiates itself from other distribution and replication technologies. Implementing CSMTM and CSTTM, snapshots of the source and target directories are taken, listing file sizes, modification times and dates, security permissions, and shares.

The remote snapshot is then transferred to the Center where it is analyzed locally looking for differences between the source directory tree and target directory tree.
