RDS - Replication Architecture

Basic

Here RDS is deployed in the simplest topography possible. The red machine is the RDS Controller with the RDS services running in the background. In addition, it is also equipped with the RDS Console. The blue machine is the Satellite.

Example: A typical replication job may involve an 'upload' replication (represented by the -->) of all development done on the machine running the RDS Controller to an on-line remote web server. Alternatively, a 'download' job (represented by the<--) may replicate a directory tree from the remote Satellite to the server as a scheduled disaster control measure.
